News Report
People in Christchurch got hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake at 4.35 am Saturday 4 September. Now there are big cracks in the ground. Houses got damaged really badly. It struck 30 km west of the city. People can't use water because the water system is closed. A teenage boy went to sleep and when he woke up he was outside. Some bricks fell on him from the chimney. Houses were left on leans. Train tracks are bent. Roads are closed because they have big cracks in them.
Earthquake
In Christchurch at 4.35 Saturday 4th of September a giant 7.1 earthquake struck 30 kilometers west from the city. Lots of chimneys fell through rooves and landed on people but luckily no one died in the earthquake. Bricks fell through cracks in the ground and cars fell through holes.
